Mauricio is the Manager of the Intellectual Property Litigation department. He has 10 years of experience in the field and has previously worked at other important IP law firms in Mexico.
He specializes in litigation related to Intellectual Property rights, including trademarks, patents, copyrights, trade secrets, domain names, anti-counterfeiting, and unfair competition.
As Manager of the IP Litigation department, he is responsible for advising and representing the firm’s clients on IP litigation matters at all levels before the Mexican authorities. Since his arrival to the firm, Mauricio has led the IP Litigation team in many complex litigation matters, including invalidation, cancellation and infringement actions before the Mexican Patent and Trademark Office, as well as challenging appeals at the Federal Administrative Court, the Federal Circuit and District Courts and even the Mexican Supreme Court.
His experience extends to copyright protection which includes the registration of all types of works provided by Mexico’s Federal Law on Copyrights, drafting of agreements, as well as advice on possible infringement cases. Mauricio and his team are also responsible for handling trademark oppositions, in which Dumont has an outstanding success rate.
Mauricio is an active member of the International Trademark Association (INTA).
